How to delete Nutanix AFS

By | December 6, 2017

I have been asked a couple times this week about how would you remove AFS from a cluster.  To be honest it is really easy.

To delete a file server:

Caution: Deleting a File Server VM (FSVM) can result in data loss. Be sure that you archive or back up data stored on a FSVM before you delete.
  1. Remove the file server from the domain
      1. In the Prism web console, go to Home > File Server and select the File Server view
      2. Click Leave Domain and select Leave Domain in the pop-up window

  2. Select the file server from the file server list and click Delete

That is all there is to is.  Waiting for everything to complete and AFS will have been removed.
