Install ESX on CISCO UCS FlashFlex

** This article do not show you how to unpack and setup the CIMC IP address **

Log into the CIMC interface.

• Default Username: admin
• Default Password: password

We need to make sure the flash disk has been formatted.

Click on the Storage tab. Then the “Reset Partition Defaults”

After the format is complete. Click “Configure Operational Profile”

Make sure to that HV is checked. Then click the Save Changes.

After that we need to start a KVM session. Click on the Launch KVM Console.

Click OK on the error

You will get a download with Chrome. IE will ask you to run or save. You can run.

Once you click you may see this error.

Click More Apps then select Java(TM) Web Start Launcher

 

Click Continue on the security warning.

Click run on the next box.

Then continue on the trust certificate

 

Now we need to attach the ISO to the KVM session.

Drop down the Virtual Media and click Activate Virtual Devices.  Now wait. I have had to wait up to 2 hours for the next step.

 

Click on Map CD/DVD…

Select your ISO file and click on Map Device

Click power then Rest System (warm boot)

After that you can boot from the ESX ISO and install.
